I'm sure I'm not the only mom who has concerns about how the arrival of a second baby will affect the current family dynamic. Especially the relationship I have with my first son, Noah. I've asked myself, "Will Noah feel less love and attention?" "Will he love his new sister?" " is his behavior going to change?" " am I going to be able to spend time with him and give him attention?"
I am going to do everything I can to make our new little addition feel welcomed and loved. I will also do all that I can to keep Noah feeling special and loved. I've thought about scheduling different family members to come and spend time with him or help with the baby so he doesn't feel left out.
The pictures below are of Noah " playing" with my girlfriends 8 month old son. I felt a little better when I would see him being nice to the baby. There were, of course, some jealous moments too. I guess I will just have to hang in there and see how things go.

Nap Time... Now What?
As a substitute teacher, I don't work every day(well sometimes, it just depends). When I'm home I try and get things done to compensate for the days I do work. However, with a toddler, it's difficult to stay focused on any task for an extended period of time. Noah's pretty good about playing by himself but he also wants his Mommy time. The best time to get things done is during his nap. The difficulty occurs in choosing which of the dozens of things that need to get done, will get done during that time.
For example, I like to get a workout in, which then requires a shower. That pretty much takes up the whole nap time and doesn't leave time for anything else. Yesterday, I worked on updating my résumé, but that took the whole nap also, so I didn't get to work out. I guess it's not a huge deal, but sometimes it's really frustrating that I get such a short time everyday to choose what I want to do.
It pretty much comes down to choosing what needs to get done over what I want to get done.
Here are some pics of Noah doing some activities he requested my presence for.

Happy Birthday!
Today is my little man's birthday. He is two years old! I can't believe I have a two year old. I so vividly remember bringing him into this world and now somehow he is talking, running, laughing, and demanding.
Noah was born March 23rd 2011 at 3:13. His birthday this year is 3-23-13. I keep saying we should play those numbers in the lottery.
We made a stop and got him a massive M&MS cookie for a birthday treat. Of course, he ate all the M&Ms off like a little gerbil and left the cookie.
Just spending the rest of the day cleaning for his party tomorrow.
