New experiences

My mother-in-law lives near Pennsylvania and there is this petting zoo about an hour away there. We decided to go there on Sunday. In a way, it was great because the animals were out and active. They had everything from deer to zebras. However, on the other hand, the conditions did not seem to be in the best interest of the animals. It was pretty smelly, the habitats didn't seem large enough or accurate enough. I felt bad for the animals, but it was a good experience for Noah to see the animals. My sister-in-law works at the Cinncinati zoo and I'm pretty sure if she saw where we went she would not be happy. Here are some pictures from the experience.

A Real Housewife

So, if you're a mother and you haven't experienced what I'm about to share then please, tell me your secret. Otherwise, I need to share my experience last night so those of you without children have a small glimpse into your future.

I rarely have a social life anymore, but last night I met my best friend at a local martini bar. While I am trying to get ready my lively little angel woke up from his nap and refused to let my husband hold him. My plan was that he would be eating his dinner, while I was getting ready, but he had a different plan.

I can't curl my hair and hold him at the same time so I put him in my sink. Then my "wonderful husband" decides to trim the babies hair, while he's sitting on my sink, while I was trying to get ready....it was very frustrating, but I also saw the humor in it and grabbed my phone to take some photos.

Then I had to sneak out so my baby wouldn't scream by my leaving....it was all so dramatic. Needless to say I enjoyed my grown up moment, sipping my martini, sans baby for just a few hours.

Like Father, like son

So we decided to cough up just a bit of cash for a new bed frame. Where do you go when you need something stylish but cheap? IKEA. So here are some pictures of Noah being a great toy tester. By the way, I totally want the toy kitchen, and table and chair set and the art easel, and the rug that looks like a road, and ....well you get the point. Looks like Christmas is set for our little guy.
The one downside to IKEA is you have to assemble everything yourself, so Adam and Noah had a great father-son moment building the bed together. It was so cute-Noah wanted to do everything Adam was doing; makes my heart smile.

Uh oh!!

I hope this isn't some sort of sign....
I vacuumed up my wedding rings :( Yes, it was an accident. It's one of those moments where the "f" bombs fly and you cannot believe you have done something so stupid.

I took them off while putting lotion on the baby after his bath. Well, if you have ever tried to hold a 16 month old still to do lotion, diaper, and Jammie's you may understand more how I was able to do such a dumb thing. I completely forgot about them and consequently, we also had new carpet installed earlier that day. I wanted to vacuum it before putting all the furniture back. I then decided to do a quickie through the other rooms and the babies room was next. In less than 10 seconds of hearing the horrific sound the vacuum makes when sucking something up it shouldn't- I knew exactly what I did.

Long story short, I found my engagement ring in the brush part, Bent to an unwearable shape. The wedding band was not so lucky, as you can see below it looks more like a staple with diamonds on it.

Very sad and very stupid

Little Gym!!!!

I wish this class wasn't so expensive because Noah has so much fun in his gym class. He gets to climb on mats, crawl through and over things, hang from bars, and walk on balance beams. They teach you fun exercises to help their motor development and they get to play with other fun things like parachutes, balls, a bouncy house, and bubbles.
It's just so pricey for such tiny babies that I feel guilty spending the money but I also feel guilty not giving him the opportunity to have the experience. We will probably skip one session and go from there considering I had to borrow money from my mom to sign him up for this summer session.

Some of these are really blurry because he is moving so fast it's hard to get the shot.

Baby number two?

No, I'm not having another... My best friend just had her little boy. It's funny because as soon as you have one baby people want to know when you are having another. I really am enjoying Noah and am not in a rush to have another. Kids are a lot of work and Noah is at a very demanding toddler stage so I can't imagine giving a second baby the devotion I gave my first.

Not to mention, that since babies change everything, my body could take a huge beating. Since it isn't even back to what it use to look like, a second baby could completely destroy me.

Also, we live in a one story condo, which is already bursting at the seems with toys and stuff. I just done know where we would put another being and all the things it would come with.

So for now, I will get my baby fix from my friend's little one.

Home Sweet Home

Well, my poor little baby woke up in the middle of the night with a 102.5 fever. His whole little body was on fire and he just wanted to be held. He came in bed with me, but because he was moving around so much my husband moved to the other bed in our hotel room. (figures) so I'm up, holding this hot little nugget. He is still getting through his fever as we sit at home.

His favorite show Little Einsteins is on and he's playing while my husband and I are sitting on the couch watching his show. (figures)

Real life kicks in so fast you have to remind yourself that you actually were on vacation. So here are just a couple last minute vacation pictures, including one of Noah feeling less than perfect and one of him making friends with another adorable little toddler at the pool.

Va-ca!!!!

Why do vacations always go so fast? This is our last full day and we will head back home some time tomorrow. I wish we could stay longer, but I am just happy we were able to take a vacation at all. Here are some views from our hotel room and a hodge podge of others.

Ocean City

Hola! We are enjoying the very, very hot weather in Ocean City Maryland. It's our first time here. The baby actually did surprisingly well accept for one mishap. Around hour 5 of 8 he threw- up, frat boy style, all over. We had to pull over in a Burger King parking lot and wash his clothes in the sink. My husband had to take the Carseat out of the car and dump bottles of water on it. All that work didn't really help because the car stunk of puke the rest of the way. However, it seemed to be a one time thing because he didn't do it again.

Now we are ready to enjoy the beach, pool, and family time. Here are some pics we have taken so far

Happy 4th of July!!!

I really love the 4th of July. It's just true Americana and it makes me happy. We saw fireworks on Tuesday. It was so much fun picking a spot for our blanket, buying cotton candy and ice cream, and people watching. The grand finale did get ruined by a monsoon thunderstorm that had us all running to our cars, but it was still fun.

Tomorrow is my 4 year wedding anniversary. It's been a fast four years, but I'm not particularly excited about this one. I guess it's because we have been strapped for cash so we don't really do much to celebrate and my husband is not romantic at all- so I don't know, it's just another day I guess. I feel guilty saying that, and I would love to get spoiled, but it's not going to happen. Plus...the romance has sort of died off since the baby came around.

We just came from a family picnic today- its nice having a holiday in the middle of the week to break things up.

Here are some pictures of my picnic-pinterest contribution and our firework night.
